THE FREEZE RESTAURANT

Though exchanging hands and changing names, the Freeze has remained a local fixture for over 70 years on Main Street in Conway. A simple concept of a walk-up window offering premium milkshakes in its early days to now a more general fast food menu offering limited seating inside, drive thru and a small patio outside. A few of their choices are burgers, hotdogs, grilled sandwiches, chicken tenders and their popular chicken salad and soup. Don’t forget their milkshakes, soft serve and hard ice cream and recently added chicken wings. Inside one will find an order counter with overhead menu and metal padded chairs and tables. My bacon cheeseburger was a grilled hand patty burger loaded with crispy bacon, cheese and diced onions. I made it a combo and that came with a soda and delicious crispy, lightly salted fries. This place may not look like much, but you can’t beat the food, service and prices.

I don’t get to go often. A friend/coworker suggested I go there one day a while back when I was craving a good burger and onion rings (hard to find for some reason) but needed to be quick. The burgers are outstanding and so are the onion rings but today, I was craving chili. I called ahead to see if they served it. (if not, it was going to be Wendy’s) sure enough, they serve chili! A coworker picked it up for me and brought it back to the office. I have to say the flavor was sooo on point! The serving size was perfect, and it came with the most tasty square of cornbread ever! If I had to say anything negative at all, it would simply be I would love to see more larger chunks of meat and maybe less beans? But I’ll be honest, I liked it so much I grabbed a second bowl on my way home from work and threw some extra ground beef in it when I got home. It is now my go to place for not only a great burger & onion rings, It is now my go to for chili as well.

Used the drive through. Ordered burgers and fries and a milkshake. Burgers were the best I've ever tasted at a drive through!

The toasted chicken salad sandwich and French fries were so good with a yummy chocolate shake. My husband got the vegetable soup, a chicken salad sandwich and a vanilla shake. It was just the comfort food I needed that day. We will be back soon.

Conway Feed & Garden Center staff sent us here today for a quick bite. As a chili dog aficionado from upstate New York, I was pleasantly surprised by the sweet flavor of my chili dog. No beans, just sweet meat sauce, mustard, and onions on my dog and bun. Very tasty and the 2.29 price made my chili dog taste even better! We both got chili dogs and soft serve ice cream. Astonishingly these “small” cones looked like “large” cones anywhere else and for only another 2.29 each! Service was fast and friendly, and the seating area was spotless. With the line of cars at their drive thru and the customers coming and going inside, “The Freeze” is clearly a popular destination for locals. First time visit! Ordered (2) vanilla cones dipped in chocolate and was surprised by their size! They were delicious. Will return next time we're in Conway!

Love the chicken salad and ice cream! We have had good service from nice employees when we go here.

Great little spot to get a drive-thru burger; it's always good, consistent, and delicious.
